I'm Hossein Nili, an Iranian cinematographer and director based in Berlin.
I believe cinematography is more than creating beautiful images. Every frame should have a reason to exist. Light, movement, composition, and silence are all part of the story not decoration.
My work is driven by human emotions and the subtle moments that often go unnoticed. I'm drawn to stories about identity, memory, relationships, and the quiet conflicts people carry within themselves. Whether I'm working on a narrative film, a commercial, or a music video, I approach every project with the same intention: to create images that feel honest and emotionally lasting.
Alongside years of hands-on experience in film and commercial productions, I've developed my craft through structured training and internationally recognized filmmaking programs. My professional journey has also included leading the video department at Shahrtash Studio, an award-winning branding studio recognized by the MUSE Creative Awards. This combination of creative leadership, professional education, and practical experience has shaped my approach to cinematography, balancing technical precision with emotional storytelling.
Now based in Berlin, I continue to expand my work internationally while developing my own directorial projects. I'm always interested in collaborating with filmmakers, artists, and brands who believe that visual storytelling can move people not only through what they see, but through what they feel.
